Welcome QDE-can
Thank you for joining the Law Enforcement Wikiproject on the English Wikipedia! As you would have guessed we are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to law enforcement
Since you now are a member you get to have our userbox or banner on your userpage! To add these use:
{{User WikiprojectPolice}}
-- our userbox, or{{Lawenforcementmember}}
-- our member banner.
Here are some more tips to get you started:
- Creating articles: See here for articles you can create, but don't forget to add [[Category:Law enforcement]] to the base of the article and our project banner to the talk page of the article using {{WPLE}}
- Participate on our talk page: It is highly recommended that you watchlist it. There are also a number of small projects on the talk page as well that may be of interest to you!
- Check the bulletin board: For news and information, please read the bulletin board regularly or add it to you user-page using:
{{Lawenforcementbulletinboard}}
- Improve an article: Click here to find all the really short articles, pick one from that list and improve it. When you are done go to the talk page of that article and removed {{WPLE| class=Stub}} the bit in bold and another editor will be along to see how well you have done and reassess the article to a much higher class.
All members are reminded:
- That this project aims for: No vandalism, no conflict and if particular articles in this project are suffering from vandalism, edit wars or talk-page abuse, please add it to the Article Watch List
In a nutshell:
- SGGH speak! (Project Coordinator)
- Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) (Assistant Coordinator)
- Or any project coordinator listed on the main project page or members page.
Again, Thank you and Welcome, Police,Mad,Jack (talk · contribs)☺ 08:22, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:CSFS logo.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:CSFS logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:13, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New 10,000 Challenge for Canada
[edit]Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

- Hi Diannaa, I was hoping you could provide more detail about your reasons for the reversion of my edits to this page. I am aware of the rules regarding copyright, and I try to avoid such issues.
- Basically, I would like to know what I did wrong here. One of your reversions says "(remove copyright content copied from https://www.cepol.europa.eu/sites/default/files/07_EPSR_BULLETIN.pdf)", but nothing I added from that document was a direct copy. I rewrote the information in my own words and provided the appropriate reference to support that wording. Another similar reversion says "(remove copyright content copied from http://enfsi.eu/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/framework_for_eafs_triennial_meeting.pdf)", but that entry was also not a direct copy. Again, the information was written in my own words with an appropriate reference to support the entry.
- Maybe I'm missing something important here, but I do not understand the rationale being applied here. Could you please provide more detail on what was actually wrong with my edits? Thanks very much. — RB Ostrum. 18:15, 30 November 2022 (UTC)

Wiki Project Proposal for Forensic Science
[edit]Hello @QDE-can I hope this finds you well. I am getting in touch as you were on the list of proposers for the Wiki Project Forensic Science. I was wondering if you might be interested in reviving the proposal? I am planning on applying for funding from the Royal Society of Chemistry for an outreach project to plug some of the knowledge gaps around this topic and/or make improvements to articles. We are particularly interested in translating the pages into minority languages such as Scots and Gaelic. This would be building on two previous applications to the same fund for physical resources for schools. It would be brilliant if I could leverage the project to find more editors to support the proposal and provide a sustainable legacy for the project beyond the funding.
What do you think? I'd also understand if your interests have moved on :-)
All the best
